Nicolai Deutsch ist ein junger und ambitionierter Filmer, der schon zu Schulzeiten seine Leidenschaft zum bewegten Bild entdeckt hat. Bei seinem Schulaufenthalt in Neuseeland hatte er die Möglichkeit das Fach „Photographie“ zu belegen und er machte seine ersten fotografischen Erfahrungen in der Dunkelkammer seiner Schule. Nach seinem Schulabschluss studierte er Film und Animation mit Schwerpunkt auf Kamera. Bereits während seines Studiums arbeitete er als freiberuflicher Kameramann und Cutter. Seit 2012 ist er regelmäßig für Canon tätig, anfangs im Promotion-Team und seit 2016 als freier Trainer für die Canon-Academy im Video-Bereich. Zu seinen Spezialgebieten gehören unter anderem Unterwasseraufnahmen.
